The graduates of the Community College in AlKharj are training on the national work portal “TAQAT”, the “Tamheer” program, and employment support to develop work skills

Abdullah Ibrahim Al-Ablan

In light of the keenness of the Community College in Al-Kharj to prepare its students for the job market and train them to search for job and training opportunities to gain experience, and with the kind patronage of His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Qamizi, Dean of the College, the Community College in Al-Kharj held a session entitled "The National Portal for Work - TAQAT" on Tuesday 1/7/1441 AH. The session was attended by a number of students expected to graduate from the college, and the meeting was presented by Dr. Ahmed Nghamish.

The objective is to train graduating students on the TAQAT portal of the Human Resources Development Fund "HADAF". The session reviewed components of the portal website, how to register for the first time as individuals looking for work, entry after registration, registration of data and educational qualifications, and a test of measuring professional inclinations, and how to search for job and training opportunities.

A number of programs affiliated with TAQAT Portal were defined, including the “on-the-job” training program “Tamheer”. This program aims to train graduates for a period ranging from 3 to 6 months in entities in the private sector in order to gain experience. This training may end with employment and the trainee receives a salary of 3000 riyals per month from Human Resources Development Fund. The employment support program was also introduced to develop skills. This new program where graduates are employed in the private sector guarantees a percentage of the salary for a period of three years in order for employment support to develop the skills of graduates.

At the end of the session, attendees were urged to register in the TAQAT Portal and take advantage of the services provided by the college's alumni unit. The unit offers help to expected graduates and graduates to register in the portal instead of going to costly private employment offices. This is a service that the college provides to students and graduates to build bridges of communication between the college and the graduates. The college's alumni unit also provides other services: vocational training to gain vocational skills that help them compete in the labor market vigorously, as well as professional guidance for students to explore their professional capabilities and preferences, clarify appropriate professional areas for them using the “SOBOL” program, and help them obtain professional certificates. Everyone was thanked for their attendance and interaction. The college’s efforts were appreciated in organizing and providing this opportunity to introduce young people to these great potentials available to them.
